The Challenge
Running a multi-vendor marketplace means juggling hundreds of moving parts simultaneously — seller onboarding, product listings, order routing, commission calculations, invoicing, and financial reporting. Off-the-shelf ERP solutions like SAP or Odoo were either too generic, too expensive to customize, or simply not built for the specific logic of a marketplace model where revenue flows between platform, vendors, and customers in parallel. The client needed a lightweight, focused ERP that mapped exactly to their operational reality: a single interface where the operations team could manage sellers, track every order from placement to delivery, and maintain a clear financial overview — without context-switching between disconnected tools.
Our Solution
Requirements Engineering & Process Mapping
Before a single line of code was written, we spent two weeks with the operations and finance teams to map every existing workflow. We identified redundancies, manual handoffs, and data gaps that were costing hours of admin work each week — and designed the ERP to eliminate them by default.
Custom Data Model for Marketplace Logic
Standard ERP data models assume a single seller and a single revenue stream. We built a multi-tenant data architecture that natively handles the marketplace relationship: platform-level visibility, vendor-level isolation, and automated financial reconciliation between the two — without manual exports or spreadsheet bridges.
Rapid Development & Iterative Delivery
We applied a three-sprint delivery model: each module was designed, built, and handed to the client for testing within a four-week cycle. Feedback from live usage in sprint one directly shaped the implementation of sprints two and three — resulting in a system that felt familiar on day one of go-live.
The Result
The ERP launched on schedule and is now the operational backbone of the marketplace. Full ERP live in production within 3 months, zero third-party ERP licences required, replaced 4+ disconnected operational tools with one unified dashboard, and commission splits & payouts are fully automated. The roadmap includes an HR & team management module, deeper analytics with exportable reporting, and an API layer for third-party logistics partners.
“We'd tried to make generic tools work for years. ADVISETEQ built something that finally matches how we actually operate. Three months, no compromises, and a team that genuinely understood our business.”
